Harvey's partner in the routine was Bexhill's Chevonne Willard, who won a bronze medal for the same discipline.

Harvey won a silver medal to go with his gold, in the staff spinning techniques. Last year he won a gold medal at the championships, the previous year, a gold and bronze.

Harvey has reached his brown/half black belt grade, and hopes to take his full black belt at the 2004 championships.

He has been trained for the past four years by Master Phillip Holmes of Eastbourne, who has achieved the 6th degree of Kuk Sool Won.
