Saxons back on track

South Saxons bounced back from their surprise defeat of the previous weekend with a 5-0 win away to Crawley II.

As many sides seem to be doing, Crawley adopted a defensive approach and frustrated Saxons during the first half of this South Hockey League Sussex Area - Division One fixture.

But Jamie Busbridge broke the deadlock shortly before the break and Dave Draper doubled Saxons’ advantage shortly after the restart with a drag flick from a penalty corner.

Busbridge and Draper added another each - both after some great team play - to make the game safe and man of the match Dan Burnett rounded-off the scoring with one of the last moves of the game.

A full report will appear in Friday’s Hastings Observer.
