Simon Lashley, Junior Chairman at the Rugby club said: “We’re absolutely delighted that it is coming to us. We’re the only place in West Sussex to hold it.

“We were fortunate to get picked out of the hat. They contacted us to see whether we wanted to do it and of course, the first thing we said was yes!”

The Webb Ellis Cup will be at event from 11am, and people are welcome to take pictures and have a glimpse of the trophy before it heads back off on its tour around 1pm.

There will also be lots of activities going on including tag rugby, Rugby Netball, and also Walking Rugby. Simon added: “One thing that always worries us about these events are parents. They bring their children down but they don’t necessarily know how the game works, so we are putting on a knowledge centre, that will include what the signals mean, what the lines mean and so on, so hopefully when they’re watching the World Cup, they will have a better idea of what is going on and hopefully enjoy it more.”
