Ross hat-trick for Crows

County League OneCrowborough Athletic 5 Worthing United 1A SECOND-HALF hat-trick from Ross Treleaven on Saturday sent Crowborough temporarily to the top of the table.

Wayne Clarke's cross found Treleaven at the near post but the latter's drive was deflected onto the crossbar.

Treleaven was then denied by the sliding Richard Maymon on the goalline, while near half-time the striker was through on goal but Warren Levy lunged in from behind to give the referee no choice but to send him off.

After the interval Crowborough broke the deadlock when a Craig Bishop found Treleaven on an acute angle, but he still whacked the ball beyond Figg and into the far corner.

Goalkeeper Rob Gordon then set Craig Bishop through to pass into the path of Treleaven to drive the ball home.

Treleaven completed his hat-trick on the hour. A Steve Davis pass found the 20-year-old on the rightand he thumped the ball in.

Clarke then sidefooted into the empty net and then doubled his tally with an effort from the edge of the penalty area.In stoppage time Worthing clawed back a consolation.
