This year’s entry was missing a few big names from previous years but, nonetheless, it did have two-times defending champion Greg Jansz in the draw.

As the draw unfolded the fancied players moved through until the quarter-final stage when top seed Jansz had to pull out. This left Fraser Poole in the semi-finals to play Jamie Allday. Allday came through to book his place in his first ever senior men’s racketball final.

In the bottom half of the draw second seed Lewis Strudwick made his way to the semi-finals when he played Chris Earl. Strudwick proved too strong for Earl and booked his place in the final with a 3-0 victory.

The final was between two players who had previously never appeared in this club final. Strudwick continued in the same form as he had done throughout the championships and defeated Allday 3-0 to become a very worthy CRAFC racketball champion for the first time.

Strudwick made it a championship double when he won the doubles title with Jon Potts, winning 3-0 over Chris and Tom Earl.

In the plate event for first match losers Danny Berkley was a 3-0 winner over Tom Earl.
