Mullets target third-place

ARUNDEL Football Club will finish third in the County League if they win their remaining five matches.

They won 2-0 at home to Hailsham on Saturday and boss Vic Short said: "It's in our own hands now. If we win our remaining games, we'll finish third, although we've still got some tough matches to come.

"I was really chuffed with our peformance against Hailsham. We really played well."

Lee Barnard put Mullets ahead on 23 minutes after Hailsham keeper Russell Tanner parried Matt Huckett's drive.

Matt Huckett and Simon Clayton went close to doubling Arundel's lead before Matt struck from brother Mike's pass three minutes after half-time.

Mike almost made it 3-0 but was denied by an excellent tackle.
