Lewis in line for town award

LEWIS Bridger has been short listed for the Bexhill Achievers Award by the Bexhill Chamber of Commerce Tourism and Trade following an excellent speedway season.

The 12-year-old, who rides a Tech One Godden Honda, regularly beats riders up to three years older than himself.

Lewis, of Westville Road, is one of three finalists for the Young Achievers category. Former mayor Joanne Gadd, chamber president Malcolm Mitcheson and Cllr Graham Gubby will present the awards at Sackville Road on July 8.

The talented youngster was in fine form at a meet organised by the Romney Falcons Speedway Club at Lydd recently.

He won all five of his rides and will soon captain one of the Eastbourne Eagles schoolboy teams at an upcoming meet in Sittingbourne.
