GOLDS NICK VITAL POINTS

THE SENSE of relief which waved through the Littlehampton faithful when Grant Vanson drilled home his 89th-minute winner was blatantly obvious on Saturday.

Golds' victory lifted them over Redhill, and Southwick, who lost 4-2 at champions-elect Burgess Hill.

They are now five points clear of third-bottom Sidlesham, with a game in hand.

Andy Taylor's side couldn't have had a better start. After just 38 seconds, Russell Hardwell broke through the centre, fed Steve Davies on the right flank, whose cross was looped over the stranded Redhill keeper Tony Reynolds by Shaheen Sadough.
