Zahavi: I'm out of Ben Haim picture

Tal Ben Haim's super agent insists he is in the dark over the player's Pompey future.

Pini Zahavi says he hasn’t heard of any developments over what lies ahead for the defender.

And Kanu’s representative has registered his ‘surprise’ at the suggestion talks over the Nigerian’s future are proving problematic.

Blues administrator Trevor Birch last week spoke of his frustration at efforts to reach compromise agreements with both players.

Pompey desperately need to get a £9.5m wage bill under control as the club looks to secure its future.

The £2m Ben Haim is owed for the remaining year of his deal is weighing heaviest on the wage bill.

But Zahavi reckons he hasn’t been involved in any discussions over agreeing a departure for the Israel international.

He said: ‘I don’t know anything about what is happening at the moment (with Ben Haim).

‘I’ve been in China, so I don’t know anything that is going on.’

Kanu is owed £300,000 for the remaining year of his deal.

Birch stated the striker wants the full amount of that paid up to walk away from the club

The Nigerian barely featured last season, as he was hindered by a persistent back problem.

Michael Appleton has made it clear the man who scored Pompey’s FA Cup winner in 2008 has no role in his plans moving forward.

But Kanu’s legal representative, Samuel Okoronkwo, feels talks are not proving difficult between the two parties.

When told Birch suggested discussions were not moving forward, Okoronkwo said: ‘I’m surprised that’s how he has put it.

‘That’s not how I would characterise it.’
