Steyning were forced to settle for just a point in the Division 2 contest, though, as Callum Bester levelled on 65 minutes.

Suter’s side extended their unbeaten league run to three matches with the draw, however Town’s boss was disappointed with just a point.

He said: “We had a lot of the ball and created lots of chances. It was a mixture of poor finishing and good goalkeeping as to the reason why we didn’t score more.

“We had such a brilliant win over AFC Uckfield on Saturday but we then follow such a good performance with not our best against Storrington.

“It was really frustrating as we created a number of chances but were very wasteful.”

Town host champions Worthing United on Saturday (2pm).
