In a message to supporters, Hancock said: “We did not end the season as we would have liked and would have most likely have ended up in around 10th or 11th place – not, as you’ll all agree, where we would ideally want to be.

“However, the season, although a tough one for us at times, gave us both highs and lows, including a good win in front of a very good-sized crowd, in the last game of the ‘season that never was’ that we played in, at home to Worthing Town, so on a positive note.

“We sadly suffered quite a lot more than we would have liked with a lack in the depth of players in the squad being available on a regular basis. That said, the dressing room remained in good spirits.”

Hancock praised the efforts of his first team coach Jim Harris, who he said would be alongside him again next season.

“I would also like to add my personal thanks to the chairman and committee at the club for their support and faith in us.”

Hancock will be further strengthening the management team with the addition of an assistant boss, as well as strengthening the playing staff with returning, well-known players and some new youngsters.

A reserve team is being reintroduced at Walton Lane and Bosham are seeking a manager and an assistant or coach.

Details of which league the second team will be playing in will follow.
