Five star performance for Rooks against Rocks

Lewes got back to winning ways in style with a 5-0 battering of Sussex rivals Bognor Regis Town at Nyewood Lane on Bank Holiday Monday.

Following Saturday's disappointing goalless draw at home to Braintree Town, put in an emphatic performance against the Rocks.

Paul Booth put the Rooks ahead in the fifth minute from the penalty spot before adding a second 19 minutes later.

Three goals in the last eight minutes of the match then wrapped things up for Lewes, with Ian Simpemba (82 minutes), Gary Holloway (85 minutes) and Jamie Cade from the penalty spot (90 minutes) doing the honours.

Lewes lost their 100 per cent record against Essex visitors Braintree in a frustratingly dour goalless draw at the Dripping Pan on Saturday.
