Three Bridges gain massive 177-run win against Ifield

Joe Ludlow and Brad Gayler continued their fine form with the bat to set an unreachable target for Ifield in their derby battle.

Ludlow followed up his recent maiden league century with 82, Brad Gayler struck 62, Conor Golding made 41 and Danny Alderman made a big-hotting 51 as Bridges set a colossal totoal of 272-9 declared.

Bridges followed this up with some excellent bowling displays by Olle Blandford (4-20) and Mike Rose ((4-32) as they dismissed the visitos for 95 to record a sizeable 177-run victory.

Bridges were boosted by the return of Danny Alderman, Matt Blandford but most of all young pace bowler Olle Blandford.

Bridges batted first and the dynamic partnership of Joe Ludlow and Conor Golding got to 43 off 10 overs against the medium pace of Ifield.

Soon the spinners were on but the scoring rate didn’t slow, Golding scored a classy 40 and then chipped to deep mid-on.

Brad Gayler came in to join in-form Ludlow and played the spinners with panache until Ludlow top-edged a pull ending his knock of 82.

Alderman made a destructive 57 and Gayler played with his piece again for 60 odd. The middle order collapsed but a total of 272 was above par.

Ifield came out with a bang, scoring boundaries early on and playing with intent. But then Mike Rose came on and got a wicket first ball.

Then a dream return for Olle Blandord as he had Ifield’s overseas player Guru Kedarnath nicked off his third ball, the Green and Gold sensed 30 points.

Rose and Blandford bowled with passion.

All four of Blandford’s wickets caught behind by Gayler. Ifield were soon losing wickets every few overs, and the game was won.

Tom Blandford dropped an easy catch and Matt Blandford bowled fast but the team stuck through it and the game was won.

Ifield were all out for 95 with Parekh leaving a straight one on his return to the Barker/Meads.
