Priory continued their excellent form on their travels - which is in complete contrast to their home record - with a two-wicket success away to East Grinstead in the final over on Saturday.

Elliot Hooper was again the pick of the bowlers with 4-51 as Priory dismissed their hosts for 192 in 53 overs. Aussie David Lowery then hit 90 to steer Hastings home at 195-8 despite Ollie Graham taking 4-77.

See Friday’s Hastings Observer for a full report. Elsewhere in the top flight, leaders Preston Nomads chalked up their seventh win of the campaign in some comfort at bottom club Worthing and second-placed Horsham suffered something of a shock away to Chichester Priory Park.

Third-placed Cuckfield got the better of Three Bridges and it was a bad weekend for second-bottom Brighton & Hove, who were beaten by Roffey on Saturday and the Sussex Development XI on Sunday. Priory are just 11 points behind Cuckfield with a game in hand and 24 ahead of the two relegation places.
