But in reply Sri Lankan ace Dhanushka Mitipolaarachchi smashed and unbeaten 101 off as many balls as Billingshurst made it eight straight league wins.

Captain Ben Williams said: “That’s eight in a row and the last four weeks we’ve bowled first and just been really consistent, restricting teams to between 140 and 180, and then everyone’s chipped in to comfortably chase it down.”

Having won the toss and had a bat first, Slinfold were 32-4 before Camagu got going, his 86 coming off 116 balls and provided the baulk of Slinfold’s total. Paceman Andy Barr took 3-54 while Kelly Russell claimed 2-15.

In reply ‘Hurst lost Scott Stratton and Toby Loxley early but Mitipolaarachi and Mike Burroughs (32) put on a century stand, the former finishing the match at the crease having hit 17 boundaries and three sixes.

‘Hurst are 30 points ahead of Stirlands and Williams added: “We are targeting seven wins from the last night games and feel with that we’d be extremely unlucky not to take the title.”
