For those in the UK, the 90-degree heat and high humidity is something only to dream about in March.

The large field included athletes from the home team as well as Florida International University, the College of New Jersey and Boston University and meant the athletes were on the high jump fan with little shade for 90 minutes.

Brown cleared 1.70m, an outdoor college PB and just below her own PB of 1.73, finishing fifth on countback.

She will return to Colorado State University with upcoming meets at home in Fort Collins Colorado, as well as in Stanford, California and Lawrence, Kansas, and will be adding triple jump to her repertoire.

Her first-ever competitive mark of 11.64m at this event was back in December 2014 at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden and was good enough to top the Sussex county rankings for 2014 – however more development is required as she progresses.

Returning to the UK in June this year, Brown will again target the England Athletics under-23 age group championships at both events.
