ARUNDEL LOSE RUR CUP FINAL

THE LATE Bill Shankly once said: "If ye dinna score, ye dinna win".

Never was that more effectively proved than on Tuesday night, when barring the opening 20 minutes Arundel never looked like getting their name on the trophy.

Instead, it was left to Selsey's ex-Worthing forward Jason Reed to decide the resting-place of the RUR Cup, that club's first-ever senior award in 99 years of trying.

Reed put Selsey ahead after 29 minutes. Former Littlehampton man Derek Chester ran down the left and crossed. The ball across the box was missed by Dave Stedman and Reed fired low into the bottom corner.
