You could be owed benefits, Bognor residents told

PENSIONERS around Bognor Regis have been urged to get hold of the money they are owed by the government.

The senior citizens could be missing out on benefits at a time when their budgets are being stretched by rising council tax bills, energy costs and other household expenses.

They have been told to go along to the town's Citizen's Advice Bureau for a free and confidential benefits check appointment.

Contact Madelaine on 01243 866233 for help. People over 60 may be entitled to pension credit to boost a single person's weekly income to 124.05 and a couple's to 189.35.

Successful claims can be backdated for a year but only until October. Three months will then be the limit.

Council tax benefit is another source of help to reduce regular bills. Being awarded any size of pension credit guarantee also opens the way to receiving other benefits.

Among them is housing benefit and some dental and eyecare costs.
