What a lotta Lotto cash for schools!

Ashington Pre-school, Peacehaven, has been awarded 1,976 to buy an activity frame and mats for its indoor play area. And Denton Primary School, Newhaven, receives 4,974, to set up a basketball club which will feature coaching sessions by Brighton Bears players.

A grant of 1,190 for Seaford Head Community College will buy mannikins for students to practise life-saving skills and Tideway School, Newhaven, has scooped 5,000 to extend its range of extra-curricular sports activities for girls.

Lotto Awards for All senior awards officer Phil Stevens said: 'We are delighted that groups are continuing to benefit from lottery funding at a very local level.

'We hope that people who take part in the various National Lottery games will see that their money is being invested in some excellent community projects that really improves the lives of the young in local neighbourhoods.'`
