Victoriana shown off at museum

A NEW exhibition, Victoriana: Crinolines and Curios, is being launched at Bexhill museum, Egerton Road, next week.

The exhibition, which begins on February 1, and runs through to December, is expected to draw a large crowd as the central focus is the magnificent mourning dress worn by Queen Victoria in 1892.

Along with the mourning dress, adults’ and children’s clothes from the same era are also exhibited. Selected pieces of furniture accompany the costumes and include rare pole screens and a Victorian sewing basket.
