Up for the Cup

NOTHING could stop Freddie Heather from winning a moto cross championship, not even having his moto cross bike stolen at the start of the season.

Seven-year old Freddie, from Daniel Close, Lancing, is the Mid-Sussex Moto Cross Club Champion 2001, in the first cadet big wheel category.

He was presented with his trophy in Tunbridge Wells last Saturday at the end of this season, but six months ago it was a very different story, after his bike was stolen from outside a motor cycle repair shop in Lancing.

Proud mum Helen said that the KX65 bike, which had cost 1,850, was never found, and that Freddie had to borrow a moto cross bike from another rider, Toby Harkness, to carry on competing.

Freddie now has a new bike, a KX65, which he will hopefully be winning more trophies with next season.

Helen added: "He wants to thank Moto Cross Racing Services and Greg Cox for their support."
