UNTAXED CARS IMPOUNDED

Lewes District Council's recently established Clean & Green Team has been impounding untaxed cars in Lewes.

Street Wardens employed by the Council working in partnership with PCSO's and Police Officers have targeted several areas within Lewes as part of a planned operation to tackle abandoned, nuisance and untaxed vehicles.

Any vehicle seized will result in a minimum 200 penalty to retrieve it which includes a 120 surety that will only be refunded to the registered keeper if they tax the vehicle within 14 days of it being impounded. Any unclaimed vehicles will either be crushed or sold at auction.
