The application, for Michaelmas Cottage, in Bolney Chapel Road, was approved unanimously at a meeting of the planning committee on Thursday (August 30).

The council received a number of objections to the application, with concerns raised about overdevelopment, loss of privacy and the development being contrary to the district and neighbourhood plans.

But Phillip Coote (Con, Crawley Down and Turners Hill) said: “I think it’s a very reasonable development. It will clear up a very mucky site and make it much better.”
