UPDATE: A286 closed in Sussex after woman dies in car crash
A 41 year-old woman has died following a car crash on the A283 near Petworth.
The A286 in both directions, between the crossroads at Fisherstreet and the A272 junction north of Petworth, was closed following the collision of the woman’s Toyota and an Audi at 6.00am this morning (Monday).
The male driver of the Audi was taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester with serious injuries.
Police have said that the road is not likely to be reopened until this afternoon.
