Overnight roadworks in busy Eastbourne road set to start again

Overnight roadworks in a busy Eastbourne road are set to restart after temporarily stopping due to the coronavirus.

The pedestrian crossing works in Friday Street, being carried out by contractors on behalf of East Sussex County Council, are due to run from June 29 to July 4, overnight between 7pm and 7am.

The original crossing improvement works between Helvellyn Drive and Penrith Way began on March 2 and were set to end on April 12.

According to the county council, road improvements will include a new puffin crossing, kerb works, carriageway resurfacing, anti-skid and road markings.
