Fatal collision in Petworth

Emergency services were called to the scene just before 6am after a collision involving an Audi and a Yaris.

Firefighters cut a man out of the Audi and has since been taken to hospital.

Sadly, the woman driver of the Yaris was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road has been closed between A272 Horsham Road junction in Petworth and the B2131 Petworth Road junction in Fisherstreet since the collision.

Accident investigation work is under way.
