Town gets behind charity's daffodil appeal fundraiser

The month long appeal, which launched on March 1, saw volunteers out in force across the country to encourage people to make a donation and wear the charity’s daffodil pin to help support people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones.

Funds raised from the Great Daffodil Appeal help our 13 Marie Curie Nurses in West Sussex to continue giving care and support to people living with a terminal illness in their own homes.

The charity wants to thank supporters in Horsham for their support.

Highlights of the Great Daffodil Appeal in the area include people getting together to collect at Tesco, Sainsburys and the town centre, giving over 70 hours of volunteering to raise a remarkable £3,943!

Kate Holdsworth, community fundraiser for West Sussex said: “The Great Daffodil Appeal is Marie Curie’s biggest annual fundraiser and I would like to say a great big thank you to everyone in Horsham for being so generous and kind, by either donating or by being one of our amazing volunteers.

“By supporting the appeal and funding over 197 Marie Curie nursing hours, you’re bringing care and support to people living with a terminal illness, as well as peace of mind and a chance to rest for their families.
