Then just 48 hours after the rally, MPs discover health boss is leaving....

Just two days after the rally pictured this week, it was announced that Steve Phoenix, the architect of plans to cut services at Worthing and Southlands hospitals will not take over as chief executive.

The move will take place in October which is likely to be after his proposals for cuts to health services in West Sussex have been finalised, but before public consultation on them begins.

Neither Mr Phoenix nor health authority chief executive Candy Morris mentioned the imminent move at the massive public meeting.
