Sweetcorn grower's greener plans

Europe's biggest sweetcorn grower wants to further extend its Pagham premises.

Barfoots of Botley has applied for planning permission to replace its packaging store with a larger version to enable recyclable packaging to be used.

The new building will be used to provide extra covered space at Sefter Farm to cater for the shift from plastic to cardboard and other renewable materials.

The company supplies leading UK supermarkets with own-range vegetables as well as farmers' markets and wholesalers.
