Shoreham co pilot killed as plane crashes into house

A SHOREHAM man was killed when a plane he was co-piloting crashed into a housing estate in Farnborough, Kent, on Sunday.

Mike Chapman (57), was a founding member of The Real Flying Company, based at Shoreham Airport, which he started with his wife, Kathy, and two friends five years ago.

He was immensely proud of the company and was its full-time chief flying instructor and examiner.

Mr Chapman was co-piloting the Cessna jet, which had been en-route from nearby Biggin Hill airfield to France.

In a statement from the company, his business partner, Neil Westwood, paid tribute to his friend and colleague.
