Search for a hero

THE LITTLEHAMPTON Gazette has teamed up with Tesco Express to "Search for a Local Hero" who selflessly does things for others, dedicates time to a worthy cause or has overcome difficult circumstances to come out on top.

So if you think you know anyone worthy enough to be nominated a Local Hero, Tesco and the Littlehampton Gazette want to know.

A new Tesco Express store is set to open on Finistere Way in Littlehampton on Monday, September 1, and supermarket bosses want a real local hero to open it.

Whoever is selected will receive 500 to give to a charity of their choice and will perform the ribbon cutting ceremony at the new store.

The Tesco Express store is replacing the One Stop store, which is currently closed for the conversion work to be carried out. The company is increasing the number of Tesco Express stores, following requests from customers for smaller outlets. It will open from 7am to 10pm seven days a week.

If you would like to nominate a Local Hero send details of why you have made your choice, along with your name, address and a daytime telephone number AND that of the person you are nominating to:

Laura Bimpson, Tesco Express Search for a Local Hero, 64 Stephenson Terrace, Deepdale Road, Preston, Lancs, PR1 5AR, to arrive no later than August 14. The person selected must be able to attend the opening event on September 1.
