Sarah Payne Grandparents deny rumours

THE grandparents of murdered schoolgirl Sarah Payne yesterday stressed they are not ready to leave the area, despite recent reports.

Terry and Lesley Payne said they have been considering leaving Kingston Gorse for several years, even before their granddaughter went missing in 2000.

But, the couple are confused by reports that implied they had their bags packed ready to leave their home.

Lesley said: "It's been on the cards for a long time, even before Sarah went missing. We have always said that we would like to go elsewhere, but obviously Sarah's death has made things harder for us.

"The reports have made it sound like we are ready to move in the next couple of weeks, but the house is not even on the market. We will move eventually, whether it be this year, next year, or the year after. We have not decided anything definitely.

"Moving would make it easier for us to see Mike, Sara and the kids because at the moment we have to go over to see them in Surrey '“ they don't come to us."

The couple have not decided where they would move to but Lesley she liked the West Country.
