Rescue services attend two road traffic accidents

EAST Sussex Fire & Rescue services attended two separate road traffic accidents, which happened within a few hours of each other on Friday evening and Saturday morning.

The first incident happened at approximately 5.15pm on Friday when they were called to assist in the removal of two vehicles which had collided on Marsh Road near The Lamb public house.

The vehicles involved were a Ford Fiesta and a silver Vauxhall Vectra. The female driver of the fiesta was taken to the Conquest hospital and her injuries are unknown at this time. Unconfirmed reports are that the middle-aged male driver of the Vauxhall suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.

The second accident, involving a collision between an Audi A4 and a Citroen C3, happened at approximately 12.45am on the Ninfield Road.

The 29 year old male driver of the Audi had to be freed from his vehicle with cutting equipment, which a spokesman for the rescue services said took them approximately forty minutes, and was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

The driver of the Citroen and one other person were also taken to hospital.

The cause of the accident is subject to police investigations.
