£500,000 Appeal for county livesaving air ambulance

West Sussex is currently one of the few areas in the country without its own dedicated air ambulance- which can make the difference between life and death in the first hour following a serious accident.

A 500,000 scheme has been launched supported by West Sussex County Council, which will see a fully-equipped air ambulance based near Gatwick covering Sussex and Surrey.

A West Sussex Appeal committee is being created, with a campaign manager based at Worthing and fundraising for the project will begin in the New Year. Flights into West Sussex will start when the first 50,000 has been raised.
