Sheffield Park and Garden has taken the lead in a study undertaken by pet themed gift shop Petlandia.

Taking a list of popular dog friendly National Trust properties across the UK, the study scored them on a series of doggy criteria points, looking at whether dogs are allowed in the grounds, if water provided, and if dogs can go off lead.

Sheffield Park and Garden gained the top score of 100/100, while Petworth Park in West Sussex came in at number six on the nationwide list with a score of 60/100.

Earlier this month, the National Trust appointed a dog officer in a bid to improve the dog friendliness of its locations. Currently, it can be unclear which properties welcome dogs, and in what capacity.
