Doug Harwood organised the Santa run to wish everyone a happy Christmas.

He has visited schools in the area and sat by the Village Green for the end of term to help the children get in the Christmas spirit.

Doug runs Dougs VW Werks on the Farrowfields Estate and loyal customers Mike and Mel Dorey have supported the run by following the beach buggy in their VW camper van, dressed as Santa’s little helpers.

Mel said: “Doug has been doing drive arounds to spread some Christmas cheer in his beach buggy, which has been made all Christmassy, and he has Christmas music blaring out, too.

“On Tuesday, we followed behind him dressed as his little helpers in our VW camper van, which he does all the work on for us, a very trusted mechanic.

“Seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces, and the parents, at this testing time was very heartwarming.

Santa will be out and about again on Christmas Eve and you can track his whereabouts here:

Mel added: “Doug is such a fun-loving and amazing human and is always thinking of ways to put a smile on people’s faces.”
