The community of Robsack Avenue and the surrounding roads have donated 24 large shopping bags to the Trussell Trust at the Hastings Centre at The Ridge.

Joanna Powell and her husband Russell mail-dropped all the houses asking for donations and put a couple of boxes out on the front lawn.

They said they 'watched with delight' as local residents generously filled up the boxes 'over and over again'.

In its third week, the boxes are filling up again, Joanna added.

The couple have now started collecting again and are encouraging other Hastings and St Leonards residents to get involved.
