Emergency response to kayaker ‘in difficulty’ in St Leonards

A spokesman for the rescue team said it received a report on Sunday (May 17).

The team arrived quickly on scene, to find the kayaker had managed to make his way back to shore with the assistance of two passing paddle boarders.

Hastings coastguard said: “Having checked the welfare of the kayaker, with no concerns, the team was stood down and returned to station.

“Please remember in a coastal emergency dial 9⃣9⃣9 and ask for the Coastguard.”
