Panto and fairy tale theme for tree festival

AT least 25 trees decorated by members of church groups are expected to contribute to the success of this year's Christmas Tree Festival at St Michael's Church.

Final preparations are now being made for the festival, which has the theme of Pantomime and Fairy Tales.

The festival opens on Wednesday, November 28 and runs every day until 5pm on Monday, December 3.

This year it will feature a special late-night opening on Friday, November 30 with mulled wine and mince pies.

Stalls, light lunches and teas will be available on the Saturday and Sunday.

The event is being organised to raise money for church repairs plus alterations to provide better disabled access.

Opening times are: Wednesday, November 28, 2pm-5pm; Thursday 29, 10am-5pm; Friday, November 30, 10am-5pm and 7pm-9pm; Saturday December 1, 10am-5pm; Sunday 2, noon to 5pm; Monday 3, 10am-4pm.
