What next for draft plan?

Now the public consultation on the draft plan has ended, what will happen next? Will Chichester District Council's chief executive harangue members of the council as she did the people who attended the city council's annual meeting?

Will she again raise the prospect of expensive legal action if the council votes to reduce the amount of development that the draft plan proposes? Will members representing wards in the South Downs National Park, which the draft plan does not cover, vote to support proposals that are opposed by people living in the rest of the district? Will the majority party on the council ignore the majority of expressed public opinion? Will UKIP garner the votes of the disaffected at the next Chichester District Council election?

There is an alternative. Do most people want it? Do they want it enough? Watch this (green) space.
