Speed policy makes no sense to me

WHEN I was a young lad growing up in the 60s, I thought the world was a very confusing place to be.

Nothing seemed to make sense in my childish world, but I thought when I grow up everything would sort itself out and I would begin to understand the world around me.

Was I right? NO, I'm as confused as ever.

After reading about the sad loss of another life on the A27, I'm at a loss to understand the following:

Why is it that the maximum speed limit on our dual carriageways is the same, generally speaking, as our motorways when you haven't got any of the safety aspects that motorways have, (i.e., no pedestrians, small motor bikes, learner drivers) and where hard shoulders are provided.

This cannot be right and it's about time those in a position to do so should get off their backsides and do something about it.
