Shop's closure will leave a void

Both my wife and I are deeply saddened to hear of the impending loss of one of the towns most long-established family shops; namely Stricklands Pets and garden supplies of Silverhill.

This long-established shop has provided the area with colour, vitality and professional service for many years. Generations of our own cats and dogs and various rescued animals we have taken in, have benefitted from the shop staffs advice, provision of food, over the counter medicines and copious amounts of cat litter.

The staff have always been very welcoming and frequently have given me advice when I have attempted to ‘grow my own’ and bought plants from there.

The attention to detail and knowledge contribute to such an excellent service which will be lost to the town when the shop closes shortly.

Loss of Stricklands will leave a huge gap in the Silverhill shopping area, we wonder if it will be filled, sadly we doubt it.

All our best wishes go to the staff who have served us over so many year.
