Where are the official voices of complaint against developments?

IN recent weeks, the Gazette has published a number of excellent letters from concerned locals about all the proposed housing developments in Littlehampton.

Which councillors have voted in favour of more housing estates?

Proposed schemes come along all the time.

Where are the voices of opposition from elected local officials and planning departments?

Why are you so silent?

Whilst not all development is a bad thing, it is very clear this coastal strip that we live in cannot sustain any more large tracts of housing, as services are at breaking point and beyond.

The UK Independence party simply says that, where enough voices of opposition can be raised, a local referendum should be called, to settle the issue.

I invite the Conservative-controlled Arun District Council to adopt this formula, or at the very least forward the idea to the new central government coalition.

Otherwise, this area will continue to see a declining quality of life for its residents.

I would like to know, what is the local policy of all the political parties, on the issue of large-scale housing plans?
