Thought it was a local quirk

WHEN I first moved to Sussex and witnessed drivers turning right from left hand lanes, I found it rather quirky.

I even warned people visiting the area to watch out for it.

At no time did I suspect that those doing it actually thought it was OK to do.

I trust Mr Seeger (Gazette letters, June 17) has an understanding insurer (hopefully they don't see his letter!).

How the Highway Code cannot apply to the Rustington roundabout is a mystery. I think some refresher lessons are in order, Mr Seeger!

Please don't recommend this behaviour to other road users, it is dangerous and illegal.

A useful tip to remember what lane to use is in the name of the lanes. Left lane – turn left. Right hand lane – turn right. Can it be any simpler?
