The proof that community spirit is alive in Battle

As well as the “big” events laid on by the Chamber of Commerce, Bonfire Boyes and other such groups, there have been street parties taking place all over the town, bringing neighbours and friends together in their own roads. The organisers of these should be congratulated for their efforts.

I particularly want to thank Laura, Lee and the other organisers who put together the street party in Falconers Drive on Monday. It was a great success and seemed to be enjoyed by everyone who attended. The kids could play without fear of traffic, the adults mingled and chatted. There was plenty of food, cakes and drinks on offer.

The road had it’s own resident DJ for the afternoon and they even managed to organise some good weather!

This was a great event and the organising team should feel rightly proud of the event they put together. Thank you very much.
