Support at Christmas

IN October, Surviving Christmas, a registered charity dedicated to helping people in need at Christmas in the Hastings and Bexhill area, launched its Christmas 2010 Appeal for Â£35,000. To raise money towards this appeal and to publicise the charity's work we recently held three events.

I would like to thank all the people who gave so generously to our collections at Morrison’s (£162.65), Sainsbury’s (£951) and the Christmas fair at the Cooden Beach Hotel (£435). This money will help towards the cost of vouchers for the families we support. We have already had almost 1,500 families in need referred to us and names continue to arrive in every post.

We do hope that we will be able to meet all requests for our help but this does depend on how much is raised by our appeal.

those who are disadvantaged or lonely at Christmas.
