Short-sighted plan

Can we really be sure that access by the public would always be preserved? Would private companies always act responsibly in managing such complex and fragile yet wonderful areas?

English woodland is astonishingly beautiful and supports much wildlife – surely, everybody has a right to visit and enjoy it at will.

Rewell Wood has an impressive history of conservation and, like other woods currently owned by the Forestry Commission, should not be part of a national “car boot tree sale” where the highest bidder wins our history and our heritage.

Public access and sympathetic management of our woodland, both in Rewell Wood and throughout England, must never be compromised, for everyone’s sake, and future generations.
