Pleasant - at the moment
At the moment the gardens look quite pleasant but this is after a re-planting of some areas - already! - and a frenzied amount of “sprucing up” for the opening. One dreads to think what they will look like in a year’s time when the novelty and lack of funds for their high maintenance wears off and they have experienced the full wrath of winter gales.
My concern has always been and still is, the safety issue of the playground features and the inaccessibility now of the seafront for disabled people. Did the garden designers ever think of trying to push a wheelchair along the ridiculously narrow pathway between the road and the gardens, let alone a pushchair?

Hide AdAs for the shelters, all I can say is, I sincerely hope the people living opposite these monstrosities get a rebate on their council charges, and that the architect responsible gets a dictionary for Christmas, as he clearly doesn’t understand the meaning of the word “shelter”.
