Our future in the hands of incompetents

MANY readers will be unaware that last Wednesday, Greencore and the John Thompson Partnership held the second North Littlehampton public forum.

Why will they be unaware?

Because the promised leaflet drop to residents failed to happen yet again.

Here we are trusting the future of our community to a group who cannot organise a leaflet drop.

It is obvious from reading their literature that this venture is driven by money to be made from housing development.

After all, every third house built is 100 per cent profit to the construction company.

These people are pushing ahead to get Highdown Drive and Mill Lane plans pushed through because this will be the only access into and out of their estate.

They are riding in on the back of the Academy, and their proposed road plans.

If these fail, they are isolated to the north.

In fact, they are producing plans which have nothing to do with their project, to the north of the railway, yet trying to get these included.

They are obliterating the livelihood of 120 people who are presently employed on the glasshouse site by demolishing it.

They forecast a meagre number of local jobs, with no mention of retail development to serve this area.

We must be very careful of this proposed development, or be faced with yet another Toddington Lane development.
