My heart goes out

MY heart goes out to those poor families who had to endure all those terrifying years from a threatening and verbally abusive neighbour (“Neighbour from Hell jailed”, Gazette, February 23).

My immediate question is: why did it take the powers-that-be five years to do something about it?

This dreadful situation should never have been allowed to get that far. The more leeway these bullies are given, the more they will think they can carry on terrorising the community.

I, like many people these days, have been threatened and verbally abused by selfish and disrespectful individuals, to the point of being frightened of repercussions and I have seriously considered moving.

But why should we be driven out of our homes?

Just what are the police doing and where are they? Are they patrolling the streets? No, I don’t remember when I last saw one.

The sentence of 12 weeks’ imprisonment is an insult to those families. I wish them well and hope that they can recover and get back to normal living.
